The project involves the complete renovation and expansion of the Julka Pibernik Kindergarten in Jesenice. Last year (2024), the demolition of the old, dilapidated building, which was energy inefficient and spatially inadequate for the modern needs of pre-school education, was successfully carried out.

This year (2025) the construction of a new building has started, which will be designed as a modern, energy efficient and functional unit. The new building will be connected to the existing kindergarten, which will allow the smooth functioning of the whole unit and improve the spatial integration between the different groups.

Key features of the project:

• Capacity: Increase in the number of sections and improvement of the spatial conditions for children and staff.
• Connection to the existing building: The new unit will be functionally and architecturally connected to the existing part of the kindergarten.
• Sustainable construction: Use of modern construction materials and technologies with the aim of energy efficiency and low environmental impact.
• Accessibility: Accessibility for people with reduced mobility.
• Outdoor spaces: Playgrounds and outdoor areas for children to play safely and creatively.

The project represents an important step towards improving the conditions for pre-school education in Jesenice and is the result of good cooperation between the municipality of Jesenice, educational institutions and the local community.
